The use of force by Calgary police officers hit a seven-year low last year, after spiking in 2023, according to an annual report.

There's been a drop in the use of force by local police officers, suggests a report by the Calgary Police Service. Of nearly 575,000 officer-public interactions last year, only one in every 702 cases saw force used by officers, the data says.
