A portion of the Dutch strategic oil reserves is being released onto the market, Minister Stientje van Veldhoven (Climate and Green Growth, D66) reports. This involves approximately 780,000 barrels held by the State. In July, 2.7 million barrels of oil from the strategic reserves held by commercial parties were already released.
The Jetten minority cabinet is 'strongly' considering substantially lowering its own gas reserve replenishment targets. Minister Stientje van Veldhoven (D66, Climate and Green Growth) told De Telegraaf this. In doing so, she is aligning with a call from Brussels, which hopes to dampen gas prices somewhat.
