Butterflies and ‘the ground is lava’: New public art in Broomfield brings whimsy to city sidewalks

As part of a community project, Broomfield now has six new sidewalk murals around the city. The murals are part of the city’s 2025 Arts in Public Places Community-Initiated Public Art Project and are intended to celebrate Broomfield’s neighborhoods and parks, as well as give viewers unexpected, joyful and creative experiences while using the sidewalks, according to the city’s website.
