Miyoko’s Creamery Butter Recalled over Potential E. Coli Contamination
The voluntary recall covers 1,304 cases after retailer testing found possible contamination, and no illnesses have been reported, the FDA said.
Miyoko's Creamery is voluntarily recalling Creamery European Style Salted Plant Milk Butter after testing identified potential contamination from E. coli, yeast, and mold.
Distributor Prosperity Organic Foods initiated the recall after Market Basket reported that testing found the butter did not "meet their quality standards," prompting the FDA classification.
The recall involves 1,304 cases of butter sold in six-pack containers with eight-ounce packaging, bearing UPC 857554005773, lot number 07871, and best-by date November 5, 2026.
While no illnesses have been reported, consumers should dispose of or return the perishable product to retailers, as select retailers are currently offering refunds.
Retailers including Sprouts and Wegmans posted consumer notices regarding product removal since September, as affected cases were distributed across 10 states including Illinois, Wisconsin, and Florida.
