- Rescue teams including the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and local residents carried out night recovery operations, and soon after the accident the injured were moved to hospitals in Baitadi and Dadeldhura.
- Authorities warned the toll may rise as several injured remain critical and under observation, with medical teams working round the clock while some patients were treated at local health posts and others referred to referral hospitals with better facilities.
- The crash follows a rise in road accidents that recorded 7,669 incidents in fiscal 2024-25, with over 70% of fatalities being vulnerable road users, and injuries costing about 1.5% of Nepal's gross national product, the World Bank said.
