Burnley dismiss coach Hayen after 14 games
- Burnley Football Club dismissed head coach Nicky Hayen on Saturday following a 4-1 defeat at Lincoln City, leaving the club 22nd in the Championship after just 14 matches.
- The Board's decision followed a poor start to the season, as the team conceded 25 goals from their opening 12 Championship games—the worst defensive record in the division.
- Angry fans chanted "you're getting sacked in the morning" at Sincil Bank during the loss, while Hayen stated, "I'm not going to lose my energy because this is something out of my hands."
- Appointed just 106 days ago, the 46-year-old Belgian won only one of his 12 league games in charge, with the club providing no immediate details on a replacement manager.
- The Clarets return to action next Saturday when they face Portsmouth at Turf Moor, sitting 22nd in the table after winning only once in their past 24 league games.
