An unoccupied three-story building with a basement that was under construction collapsed in Mount Vernon, north of New York City, damaging several parked vehicles but causing no injuries. The collapse occurred around 9:30 a.m. last Thursday at 16 North Bond Street, between Mount Vernon Avenue and Oak Street, according to authorities. The Mount Vernon Fire Department said it received an emergency call shortly after the collapse.
