The budget deficit could be even higher than previously assumed. Several daily newspapers wrote on Monday, citing renewed country figures, that the deficit will be 4.9 percent of GDP and not 4.5 percent as expected. There was no confirmation of this either from the chairmanship of the state finance officers or from the Ministry of Finance. However, the ministry confirmed that the countries had sent new figures. Now they want to examine them.
