Brandenburg was the last federal state to approve the reform state treaty for public service broadcasting. However, the project went through the state parliament only with the help of the opposition - the SPD/BSW coalition did not have its own majority.
The BSW had blocked two controversial media state treaties in Brandenburg. Now the CDU is helping the SPD. The reform can come on December 1st.

Public service broadcasting is to become leaner and more efficient. Following the approval of the Brandenburger Landtag, the reform can now enter into force on 1 December. The SPD/BSW coalition did not have its own majority.
After 15 other federal states Brandenburg also voted on the broadcasting reform. There is a fierce dispute within the ruling coalition of SPD and BSW. Finally, the CDU has to ensure the decisive votes.
The CDU opposition introduces the SPD/BSW government alliance of Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke (SPD) with the yes to the media state treaties.
