The European Commission has defended on Tuesday the legal basis of the total veto it wants to impose on Russian gas imports despite the concern shown by some of the companies concerned, such as Naturgy or Repsol, who have signed long-term contracts with Russian companies until 2038 and will be forced to break them on January 1, 2028.
