Bruins Sign F Lukas Reichel to 1-Year Extension
The 23-year-old forward carries a $950,000 cap hit after Boston added him at the trade deadline for his speed and depth.
On Thursday, the Boston Bruins signed restricted free agent forward Lukas Reichel to a one-year contract extension with an NHL cap hit of $950,000 through the 2026-27 season.
Acquired from the Vancouver Canucks in March for a 2026 sixth-round pick, the 23-year-old was originally selected 17th overall in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks.
During his 10-game stint with the Bruins, Reichel recorded one goal and three points while adding nine shots and five blocks.
Reichel will represent Germany at the World Championships in Switzerland beginning Friday, though he must clear waivers if he fails to make Boston's roster this fall.
With Reichel re-signed, Boston retains defenseman Jordan Harris as a restricted free agent while forwards Viktor Arvidsson and defenseman Andrew Peeke remain pending unrestricted free agents, as Team President Cam Neely seeks more "speed and talent.
