The Perplexity start-up launched Comet, its very first web browser. Here no question of copying Chrome or Safari: Perplexity wants to impose its own vision of navigation, centered (obviously) on artificial intelligence.
BrowserOS is an agent browser that runs AI agents locally, similar to Perplexity Comet. It is developed as open source under the AGPL-3.0 license, and can use its own BrowserOS AI, as well as OpenAI, Anthropic's Claude, Google Gemini, and the locally running Ollama.
