Browns and Saints try to stay close to their division leaders as they meet in New Orleans
Cleveland may be without Deshaun Watson as Shedeur Sanders prepares to start against a New Orleans defense ranked 28th in yards allowed.
On Sunday, the 5-3 Cleveland Browns visit the 2-5 New Orleans Saints at the Superdome for a 1 p.m. EST kickoff on CBS, with both teams chasing their respective division leaders.
Browns starting quarterback Deshaun Watson remains in concussion protocol after missing multiple practices, leaving backup Shedeur Sanders to prepare for his first start of the season.
The Browns' 24th-ranked run defense allows 126.9 yards per game, while the Saints rank 28th in rushing with 86 yards per game and their defense ranks 29th, surrendering 139.4 yards per game.
Despite an 0-4 home record in the Superdome this season, New Orleans remains one game out of first place in the NFC South. Saints coach Kellen Moore said, "Everything is still alive and in front of us."
Preparing for his opportunity, Sanders expressed confidence in his preparation against New Orleans' vulnerable defense, saying he has seen "a lot of video" of the Saints defense and appears ready to perform well.
