Brookfield Builds Qatar Presence with Doha Office
The office will be anchored by Brookfield’s global credit platform, including Oaktree, as it seeks closer access to sovereign wealth funds and deal flow.
On Sunday, Brookfield opened a new office in Doha anchored by its global credit platform, including Oaktree, expanding its presence across the Gulf region.
Already managing roughly $20 billion in assets across the Gulf Cooperation Council, Brookfield is strengthening its operations in Qatar with this regional expansion.
Collaborating with Qai, a Qatar Investment Authority subsidiary, Brookfield is investing $20 billion in artificial intelligence infrastructure while gaining access to sovereign wealth funds and institutional investors across the Gulf.
Competitors including Advent International, Eurazeo, EQT, and Pantheon recently opened Abu Dhabi offices, while Robinhood Markets Inc. plans to launch a retail investing platform from Dubai next year.
"Establishing our presence in Doha is a natural next step," said Jad Ellawn, Brookfield's managing partner, as Qatar continues efforts to diversify its economy away from energy.
Brockfield Asset Management opened an office in Doha to strengthen its presence in Qatar and the Gulf, based on its global credit platform, as its investments expanded, including an AI infrastructure programme.
