Brookfield Renewable Partners Announces New Date for Meeting on Proposed Corporate Simplification
The move gives unitholders more time to cast ballots as support tops 99.7%, while approval still requires two-thirds of outstanding BEP units.
Brookfield Renewable adjourned its special meeting to October 29, 2026, to allow additional time for unitholders to vote on the proposed corporate simplification, with the meeting set for 11:00 a.m. EDT.
The simplification will combine Brookfield Renewable Partners and Brookfield Renewable Corporation into a single publicly traded entity, Brookfield Renewable Partners Inc., designed to improve consolidated trading liquidity and streamline investor analysis.
Over 99.7% of votes cast to date support the restructuring, with board members unanimously recommending approval based on fairness opinions received from Scotiabank.
Laurel Hill Advisory Group is managing proxy voting assistance; unitholders must submit votes by October 27, 2026, though those who already voted do not need to resubmit.
If securityholder approvals are obtained, the Supreme Court of British Columbia is expected to hold a final hearing approving the simplification on or about November 3, 2026.
