The global investment manager Brookfield, based in Canada and operating in more than 30 countries, has initiated an international arbitration against the Peruvian State. The company filed an application with ICSID on March 12, 2025.

Brookfield Files $2.7 Billion Arbitration Against Peru Over Toll Roads

Brookfield Asset Management Inc. is taking Peru to arbitration, alleging Peru has illegally expropriated a series of toll roads it operates in its capital city.

The mayor of Lima, Rafael L pesca Aliaga, argued that Per did not disburse money in favor of Brookfield regarding the arbitration recently presented to the ICSID.

Brookfield, an investment fund manager, initiated an international arbitration procedure against Peru.
