- Following the discovery, the family asked for privacy, while Shirley Ebbs, wife of Pete Jackson, raised the alarm and a friend thanked everyone who helped in the search.
- Friends said the circumstances were out of character and noted he had been `quite frail and disorientated` prior to the incident, with the community describing him as a cheerful, quiet expat.
