Brewers' Christian Yelich comes off injured list after missing a month with an adductor strain
Yelich returns after the Brewers went 14-9 without him and ranked last in the majors with 26 home runs, officials said.
After spending exactly one month on the injured list with a left adductor strain, Milwaukee Brewers designated hitter Christian Yelich returned to the active roster for the game against the San Diego Padres.
Yelich injured himself running to first base against Washington on April 12; before the injury, the 2018 NL MVP hit one homer and 10 RBIs in 15 games.
With Yelich on the shelf, The Brewers generated minimal power; Their 91 wRC+ was fifth-worst in that span, yet the team still managed a 14-9 record during his absence.
To open a roster spot for the designated hitter, Milwaukee optioned first baseman/outfielder Tyler Black to Triple-A Nashville after Black appeared in nine games with the team.
Jackson Chourio and Andrew Vaughn recently returned, giving The Brewers their full complement of offensive weapons for the first time this year, though they rank last in the majors with 26 home runs.
