'Alarm' as BreastCheck misses screening targets by thousands
The HSE’s BreastCheck programme has missed its breast cancer screening targets by tens of thousands, it has emerged. Last year’s goal was to screen 195,000 women for breast cancer, but only 137,000 checks were carried out, a shortfall of 30%.
