Univ. of Tennessee Tight End Ethan Davis Out for Season with ACL Injury
Heupel said the senior tight end is Tennessee’s fifth player to suffer a season-ending injury this year.

- During the second half of the 45-24 victory at Bobby Dodd Stadium, Davis sustained the season-ending injury near Tennessee's sideline while reaching the medical staff under his own power.
- Davis recorded 39 receptions for 433 yards and six touchdowns across four seasons since 2023, making his absence significant. Heupel said, "The next guy up, and multiple guys, have to step up in that role."
- Sophomore DaSaahn Brame and South Alabama transfer Trent Thomas headline the tight end rotation, with Junior Cole Harrison and freshman Luca Wolf providing additional depth at the position.
- Davis remains eligible to return in 2027 for a fifth year under NCAA's 5-for-5 rule, while the Volunteers host Kennesaw State on Saturday before their SEC opener against Texas.
