Australia's Optus Suffers Emergency Call Outage, Says Vandals Cut Fibre
More than 14,000 customers lost mobile voice and data service due to an aerial fibre break, disrupting emergency Triple Zero calls in southeast Melbourne, Optus said.

- The government said it was closely monitoring the outage with early signs of vandalism, and Optus says it is working to rectify the situation, while Melissa McIntosh demanded a full independent inquiry and said `must stop`.
