Teen Fighting for Life After Alleged School Stabbing
Police say the 16-year-old and victim were known to each other, and the school was locked down as support services were offered.
On Tuesday, a 17-year-old boy was stabbed at the Islamic College in Brisbane and rushed to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a "potentially life-threatening" condition, Queensland Ambulance Service told NewsWire.
This incident marks the second stabbing at a Queensland school in two days, following a separate altercation on Monday at a school in Manunda where a teenager was taken to Cairns Hospital in stable condition.
Police allege the two boys were involved in an "altercation" at Acacia Road in Karawatha about 11.47am on Tuesday; both were known to each other, police said.
Queensland Police charged the 16-year-old boy with acts intended to maim and unlawful possession of weapons category M, with a court appearance scheduled for Wednesday at Richlands Children Court.
Officers are conducting patrols of the nearby area and appealing to anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to contact police, while the school provides counseling and support services to the community.
