5-year-old killed after being hit by vehicle in northeast Edmonton
A 5-year-old boy was fatally struck by an SUV as he fell while running on a sidewalk near a residential parking lot, police said.
- On Monday, a 5-year-old boy was struck and later killed by an SUV in northeast Edmonton, police said after officers responded around 10 a.m.
 - Police say the boy was running eastbound on the sidewalk and tripped as a Jeep Cherokee exited the parking lot of a residential complex in McConachie.
 - The 25-year-old woman driver immediately called 9-1-1, and paramedics transported the child to hospital after the collision, police say.
 - At the scene, neighbours set up a small memorial outside Arcadia Place on McConachie Boulevard near 62 Street, and police urged anyone with information to call 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
 - The Edmonton Police Service's major collisions investigation section is probing the crash; EPS does not believe speed or alcohol were factors, The Canadian Press reported Nov. 3, 2025.
