Boy, 16, arrested over felling of iconic ‘Robin Hood tree’ next to Hadrian’s Wall

The British police have arrested a second suspect for felling a famous tree in Northumberland, northern England. In addition to a 16-year-old boy, a man in his 60s was also arrested, police report. He is still stuck. The 16-year-old boy has been released on bail.

It was the most photographed and famous tree in the north of England, and its 35-meter-high majesty gave balance and contrast to the view of the long wall that Emperor Hadrian ordered to build to protect the confines of the Roman Empire from barbarian invasions.
