Boston Fleet hire Francois Methot as coach, citing his track record of player development
The Fleet said Methot brings a 110-51-17 record and a strong player-development background after three seasons with Rochester.
On Thursday, The Boston Fleet announced the hiring of Francois Methot as head coach, citing his track record of developing women's and men's players over the past decade.
Methot replaces Kris Sparre, who departed after one season to become head coach of the league's new expansion franchise in Hamilton, Ontario.
The 48-year-old Montreal native compiled a 110-51-17 record over three seasons as general manager and head coach of the Rochester Jr. Americans in the North American Hockey League.
As the team enters its fourth season, the Fleet face transition due to the PWHL expansion process, which required the club to expose forward Alina Muller.
Methot previously coached Fleet defender Haley Winn during his time in Rochester, a connection general manager Danielle Marmer cited as central to his commitment to player development.
