Battery Maker Pure Lithium Moving to Chicago, Investing $46M

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, JUL 11 – Pure Lithium plans to create 50 jobs and invest $46 million to produce lithium metal batteries with locally sourced materials, reducing reliance on China, officials said.

Battery startup Pure Lithium will relocate from Boston to Chicago and invest $46 million to expand in the city’s growing tech hub, the company announced on Thursday.The maker of lithium metal batteries will launch in Fulton Market this fall and create at least 50 new jobs.
