Residents in Amersfoort and surrounding municipalities, including Bunschoten-Spakenburg, Leusden, and Soest, have been advised to boil their drinking water until at least Wednesday afternoon after water company Vitens confirmed the presence of enterococci bacteria in the supply.
The advisory to boil drinking water before use in Amersfoort and surrounding municipalities such as Bunschoten-Spakenburg, Leusden, and Soest remains in effect until at least Wednesday afternoon. The "mild contamination" with the enterococci bacteria found last Monday has not yet disappeared, according to water company Vitens.
