Hydroelectrica announced, on Thursday, an investment of 296.8 million lei in a battery storage capacity at C.H.E. Iron Gates II, with an installed power of 64 MW and a storage capacity of 434.76 MWh.
Storage capacities will enable the production profile to be optimised over 24 hours, the shift of energy to higher value intervals and the flexibility of the entire portfolio to be increased.
The investment director of Hydroelectrica, Bogdan Badea, announced the award of the contract for the construction of a storage facility at the hydroelectric power plant on the Iron Gates II Danube, which would be completed by the end of the following year at the latest.
