Boeing has reached an interim agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice to pay $1.1 billion (€956 million) to avoid criminal charges for the two fatal accidents of 737 MAX.
The agreement includes the payment of $444.5 million to a fund for the families of the victims of these accidents, which occurred between October 2018 and March 2019 for an error in the design of their aircraft software, causing the death of 346 people.
