The body of a 40-year-old Omaha man was recovered Friday from the Missouri River by members of the Council Bluffs Fire Department.

An Omaha man was found dead in the Missouri River Friday afternoon, officials said. Council Bluffs police said officers responded to the Missouri River on the Iowa side of the river, directly across from Freedom Park, after 3:30 p.m. for a report of a body floating in the river.
