- On Friday, March 28, police personnel participating in dive training located Lees' body off the Long Beach coast, almost four months after he went missing.
- The Los Angeles Fire Department received positive identification of the body from the LA County Medical Examiner's office on Saturday morning and released a statement expressing its 'profound sadness' and extending condolences, while also stating that the LAFD stands united in grief.
