Body of Dan Davis Found in Blue Island, Daughter Says; Chicago Man Was Missing Since November
Dan Davis was found after a three-month search led by community efforts and social media, with cause of death still under investigation, officials said.
Blue Island police and fire crews recovered a body from Stony Creek near 3301 W. Wireton Road on March 9, 2026, later confirmed as Dan Davis by the Cook County Medical Examiner.
Hours earlier, Davis had been involved in a crash near the Garden Homes Fire Department, declined medical attention, and was last seen Nov. 25, 2026, leaving 115 Bourbon Street in Merrionette Park.
Cook County Sheriff's Office bodycams show Davis being dropped at 115 Bourbon Street and later tracked by K-9 units from St. Donatus Church toward train tracks, where the trail stopped.
Blue Island officials offered condolences and urged anyone with information to contact the Blue Island Police Department, with Wendy Davis stating, 'The update I never wanted to make...'
Nearly three months of searches used drones, divers, K-9s and a $500 reward offered by Wendy Davis, while Find Dan Day volunteers and SAR Sheps sustained the national campaign.
