Body located amid search for missing Texas teen: Sheriff

On Tuesday, investigators announced a body was found in a field area a few hundred yards from Camila Mendoza Olmos's home, but Sheriff Javier Salazar declined to confirm the identity.
On Dec. 24, Camila Mendoza Olmos, 19, was last seen at about 6:58 a.m. outside her family home on the 11000 block of Caspian Spring, with her phone and most belongings left at home except her car key and vehicle.
The FBI San Antonio has assisted with examining Camila Mendoza Olmos’s phone and enhancing dashcam and dashboard camera video, while the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is checking outbound flights and border crossings.
Search teams have established a local command post and combed wooded areas with a dozen family members from California, a 17-hour drive away, plus more than 100 volunteers aiding efforts.
Investigators say they must consider willful disappearance, self-harm or abduction while noting no proof Camila left the country, with FBI San Antonio and DHS assisting.
