Electric BMW M3 Previewed by M Neue Klasse Concept
The concept previews BMW M’s electric future with four motors, an 800-volt system and a battery of more than 100 kWh, the company said.
On Friday, BMW debuted the Concept M Neue Klasse at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, previewing the brand's upcoming all-electric performance vehicles arriving in 2027.
Painted in Monza Red, the concept features an aggressive stance with a ducktail spoiler and signature "Track Lights," while BMW says the design "showcases the new BMW M design language."
Inside, the cabin is "geared towards the driving experience in a next-generation all-electric BMW M," featuring four bucket seats upholstered in Bathurst Blue and Berry Red leather alongside black nubuck accents.
The vehicle utilizes an 800-volt architecture and a battery with more than 100 kWh of capacity, while four electric motors controlled by "Heart of Joy" ECUs power each wheel independently.
Expected to be named i3 M, the vehicle marks a new electrified journey for BMW, with the first all-electric M performance model scheduled to launch in 2027.
The next generation of high-performance sports is already beginning to take shape.
