BMS, So Ripley Volleyball Split

Batesville and South Ripley split in middle school volleyball on Tuesday in Versailles. The Bulldogs won the 7th grade game in two sets, 25-13, 25-17. In the front row for BMS, Vivian Duty had 2 kills and Emily Volz earned 1 kill. Volz also was a perfect 12-for-12 from the service line and earned 10 points, including 5 aces. Lucy Bailie was also perfect with 10-for-10 serving, earning 8 points, including 2 aces. Aubrey Kruthaupt had 13 service points in the win. Ava Gunter and Cora Koehne chipped in 2 points each. The Batesville 7th grade team team is now 2-1 on the season. The host Raiders claimed the 8th grade contest in two sets, 25-22, 25-13. Batesville was led by Emma Campbell, who earned 7 points including 3 aces in 11 attempts. Offensively, Lauren Ollier chipped in 4 service points and 4 kills on the front line. Setter Sydney Holtkamp had 6 assists for the match. Lilly Reding and Addison Glaub helped the Bulldogs in serve reception, while Tessa Rowlett led the team in digs. Batesville 8th grade is now 2-1. Both 7th and 8th grade BMS squads return to the court on Thursday against EIAC rival Greendale.
