Bloomington Speedway revs back to life
On Friday night (May 9), owners, supporters, and workers celebrated the reopening of Bloomington Speedway. The track first opened in 1923 and has recently undergone a major renovation. Well-known local tenor, Rusty Shields, sang the national anthem. One of the racers was 24-year-old Ashton Thompson of Salem, Indiana.
