Blondie to Release First Album in Nine Years
The 12-track album includes Clem Burke’s final recordings and guest spots from Johnny Marr, Glen Matlock, Zach Condon and Lucius.
On Thursday, American rock band Blondie announced their 12th studio album, 'High Noon,' set for release on February 26, 2027, alongside the lead single 'Spectral Eyes' written by former The Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr.
The record features final recordings from drummer Clem Burke, who died in April 2025 at 70, recorded in New York City with producer John Congleton, who previously worked on 2017's 'Pollinator.'
Joining lead singer Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein, the album includes contributions from Glen Matlock of Sex Pistols, Zach Condon of Beirut, and Lucius members Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig.
Regarding the band's future, guitarist Chris Stein expressed uncertainty, suggesting potential projects might be branded as 'Blondie Presents,' while he and Harry shared gratitude for fan support over the years.
This collection marks the New York icons' first new material in nine years, continuing a legacy since 1974 that includes eight Top 40 hits such as 'Heart of Glass' and 'Call Me.
