Greenpeace and the captain of the Arctic Sunrise were released by the administrative justice after the immersion of 15 rocks in a protected marine area of the Mediterranean to denounce the bottom trawling. The administrative court of Montpellier cancelled the prosecution.
In May 2025, the NGO Greenpeace submerged 15 limestone blocks off the Barcarès and Port-Leucate, between the Aude and the Pyrénées-Orientales, in order to denounce the bottom trawling in a protected marine area. Followed by the Prefect of the Pyrénées-Orientales, the NGO won in the Montpellier administrative court, which cancelled the lawsuit.
