- At its Overwatch Spotlight on Wednesday, Blizzard announced Overwatch will drop the '2' and relaunch with a year-long storyline called The Reign of Talon.
- To mark Overwatch's 10th anniversary, Blizzard Entertainment relaunched the franchise to regain momentum after the sequel underperformed and respond to players and user reviews about monetization and the canceled PvE Hero mode.
- On Feb. 10, five heroes—Domina , Anran , Emre , Jetpack Cat , and Mizuki —launch as Season 1 begins, with five more planned for 2026.
- Players will enter Conquest, a five-week faction war where they choose Overwatch or Talon and earn dozens of loot boxes, including one of two faction-themed Legendary Echo skins, as Blizzard refreshes loot boxes with past shop skins.
- A big UI redesign includes a new 3D hero lobby, Praise feature, over 70 Stadium icons, a Hero Builder, Nintendo Switch 2 upgraded edition, and a Hello Kitty event.
