BlackRock Frontiers and Latin American make manager changes

BlackRock has reorganized its emerging market team by creating two sub-teams, learned Financial News. An emerging market team and Asia will be based in Hong Kong and an emerging market and border team will be set up in London. Belinda Boa, Director of Emerging Market Investment, will lead the team together. Egon Vavrek, a former APG AM, will lead the team in Asia. Prashant Periwak, also from APG AM, joins BlackRock as manager on Indian funds.

Two BlackRock investment trusts have announced changes to their manager lineups, following a wider restructure of the firm’s global emerging markets team. The changes see Sudaif Niaz, who has co-managed the £276m BlackRock Frontiers Investment Trust since February 2023, step down from his role.
