BJP worker killed, 3 others injured in clash in Uttarakhand village; properties of accused razed in bulldozer action

- On Saturday, a 44-year-old Bharatiya Janata Party functionary named Vinod was beaten to death during a clash in Bairagiwala, Uttarakhand, with three family members critically injured.
- The incident began with an altercation between Vinod and neighbor Imtiaz over watering a field; a mob of over 40 people then stormed the home armed with hammers and shovels.
- Based on a complaint from victim's brother Ashok, police registered a case against 122 named suspects and 30 to 35 unidentified individuals on charges of murder and rioting.
- Following the killing, authorities razed "illegal" structures belonging to the accused amid cries of "Jai Shri Ram" by gathered crowds; the Provincial Armed Constabulary was deployed overnight.
- Vikasnagar MLA Munna Singh Chauhan condemned the attack, calling Vinod a "dedicated functionary" and promising strict action against those involved while appealing to locals to maintain peace.
