Bitcoin Shrugs Off ETF Outflows to Trade Above $84,000 as Oil Falls
Institutional investors pulled $681 million from U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs last week, but BTC held near $84,000 as broader crypto prices firmed.
U.S. spot crypto ETFs recorded $1.29 billion in net outflows during the week ending October 9, 2026, with BlackRock's ETHA fund accounting for $477.1 million of Ethereum's total withdrawal.
Flows turned choppy recently after September attracted about $2.65 billion in inflows; October is down $165.6 million so far, reversing the prior month's momentum.
Bitcoin ETFs shed $681 million last week, the highest since June, with Fidelity's FBTC leading withdrawals at $380.3 million and ARK's ARKB following at $207.2 million.
Investors withdrew $1.22 billion combined from Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs across five sessions, though a $21 million inflow on October 9 marked the first positive day since October 6.
Market analysts cited October 14 U.S. inflation data as the next major macro catalyst, with bulls defending the $82,000 Bitcoin support level to avoid deeper losses.
