Bills cornerback Max Hairston apologizes for snubbing reporters after tough game in loss to Patriots
Max Hairston said he was immature for leaving after Buffalo’s 29-26 loss and vowed to hold himself accountable.
On Monday, Buffalo Bills cornerback Maxwell Hairston apologized for leaving the locker room after Sunday's 29-26 loss to New England, admitting his behavior was "immature" and that emotions overwhelmed him.
The 23-year-old Hairston allowed four receptions for 44 yards and two touchdowns to New England Patriots wide receiver Romeo Doubs, while also being flagged for holding during critical defensive moments.
Defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard questioned Hairston's effort on a key third-down play but defended the cornerback's character, saying, "I think he's an emotional player" who cares deeply about his performance.
Head coach Joe Brady expressed continued faith in Hairston, stating, "There's a reason he stayed out there," signaling the team's belief in the cornerback's development despite the poor performance.
Hairston will start for Buffalo on "Monday Night Football" against the Los Angeles Rams this week, with Brady predicting, "He's going to be out there this Monday" and expecting a bounce-back performance.
