Bihar Congress Expels Seven Leaders Amid Discipline Violations
Seven senior Bihar Congress leaders face six-year expulsion for repeated breaches of discipline, including unauthorized public accusations that damaged party credibility, the disciplinary committee said.
- In Patna, the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee expelled seven senior leaders for six years, announced on Nov 25, 2025, after a review held on Nov 24.
- After reviewing evidence, the panel concluded the leaders repeatedly criticised party decisions and made baseless "ticket-buying" allegations that harmed the party's reputation, while finding their showcause replies unsatisfactory, Kapildeo Prasad Yadav said.
- On 18 November the disciplinary panel first issued show-cause notices to 43 leaders, giving three days to reply before expelling Aditya Paswan, Shakeelur Rahman, Raj Kumar Sharma, Raj Kumar Rajan, Kundan Gupta, Kanchana Kumari, and Ravi Golden for violating three of five norms.
- The expulsions prompted immediate pushback as dissident leaders accused the leadership of scapegoating, while BPCC President Rajesh Ram ordered a state-wide performance review, Rajesh Rathore said.
- Looking ahead, the BPCC plans nationwide campaigns including Nov 26 Constitution Day events and a Dec 14 rally at Ramlila Maidan, with officials emphasizing transparency under the All India Election Committee and Central Observer Avinash Pandey.
