Thales, Bharat Forge Arm KSSL Sign Pact to Explore 70-Mm Rocket Systems

- On Thursday, Thales and Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited , the defence subsidiary of Bharat Forge, signed a Strategic Alliance Agreement to explore collaboration on unguided and laser-guided 70-mm rocket systems.
- The collaboration combines Thales' rocket expertise developed in Belgium with KSSL's local manufacturing and testing facilities to support production and integration, ensuring international quality standards.
- Thales' 70-mm solutions, trusted by 70 armed forces across 55 countries, support multi-role mission flexibility and integrate on rotary-wing platforms including the Advanced Light Helicopter and Light Combat Helicopter.
- The agreement supports India's ambitions under the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' and 'Make in India for the World' initiatives while strengthening India-Belgium defence cooperation during Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever's official visit.
- Neelesh Tungar, CEO of KSSL, stated the partnership lays the foundation for indigenous production of next-generation rocket systems, including at their upcoming Energetics facility in Andhra Pradesh, positioning India as an advanced defence hub.
