Bermeo soared over the Bilbao estuary and surprised everyone in the third heat of the 17th Bilbao Flag regatta to win the first flag of the season. Orio, the competition leader, was unable to improve on the time set by the team coached by Orio native Jon Salsamendi, and finished in second place for the day, maintaining their lead in the Eusko Label Liga.
