BENSON — Cherie Stielow is the apparent winner in a special election Tuesday to fill a seat on the Benson City Council. Stielow received 118 votes. Her opponent, Derek Shemon, received 104 votes, according to unofficial election results from the city of Benson. The Benson City Council will meet at noon Friday to canvass the election.
