The German transport authority BeNex has ordered 56 new regional trains from Siemens Mobility for the Mainfranken regional railway network in Germany. This involves 26 four-part Desiro High Capacity trains and 30 three-part Mireo trains, which will be deployed from the end of 2030 on connections between Frankfurt, Würzburg, Nuremberg and Bamberg.
BeNEX placed an order with Siemens Mobility for 56 trains for its Mainfranken regional network at InnoTrans 2026, the international transport technology fair held in Berlin. BeNEX orders ‘space miracle’ trains for Mainfranken services
GERMANY: BeNEX placed an order for Siemens Mobility to supply 56 electric multiple-units for use on Mainfranken services during InnoTrans 2026. BeNEX is to operate the Frankfurt – Würzburg – Nürnberg/Bamberg regional services from December 2030 to December 2042 under a contract awarded in July by Bayern railway authority BEG and Rhein-Main transport body RMV.
