Belleville firefighters brave -17C wind chill conditions battling West Hill house fire

Belleville firefighters report there were no injuries sustained from an aggressive residential fire fanned by high winds late Monday in a storey-and-a-half home in the city’s West Hill.

Home destroyed in west Belleville fire

A home was destroyed by fire in Belleville overnight. Just before 11:00 p.m. Monday evening, city fire crews responded to the 100 block of Purdy Street, north of Moira Street West. The single family residence was burning rapidly and fire crews had to exit the building. They kept the blaze from spreading to adjacent homes.
