A home was destroyed by fire in Belleville overnight. Just before 11:00 p.m. Monday evening, city fire crews responded to the 100 block of Purdy Street, north of Moira Street West. The single family residence was burning rapidly and fire crews had to exit the building. They kept the blaze from spreading to adjacent homes.
