Belgium’s Agfa to Merge Digital Printing Unit with Siris’ EFI

Belgium printer IT company Agfa Gevaert NV is merging its digital printer solutions business with Electronics for Imaging Inc., an industrial printer company owned by US private equity firm Siris, according to people familiar with the matter.

Agfa and EFI form joint venture

The Siris Capital Group, which owns EFI, has signed an agreement with Agfa to combine Agfa’s Digital Print Solutions business with EFI. Siris will own 60 percent of the combined group, with Agfa holding the remaining 40 percent.
